UI/UX Individual Project
Skylark
Duration: 8 weeks
Role: UX Researcher/
UX + Product +Service Designer
Overview
In this project, I focused on redesigning food delivery services in the airport to create a more hygienic and personalized dining experience
The final deliverables include a full service design, app design and a delivery veichle design.
Primary research
In order to better study people's opinions about the existing airport dining system and their expectations of airport food delivery services, I distributed 54 questionnaires, the following are some of the excerpted questions. I also conducted one-on-one semi-structured interviews with some of the selected participants.
After primary research, I created a user journey map to find more insights based on the current user experiecne

What we need to design an experience for airport food delivery service?
Situation before the pandemic:
+ Enables people to enjoy their meals faster and without stress at the airport
+ Save time finding the restaurant and waiting in line
Situation after the pandemic:
+ Private space to enjoy the order
+ Access to the food without entering the crowded space
Ideation
I first considered and initialized the design of a mobile app suitable for the food delivery procedure after establishing the scope, and also started to sketch the design of the delivery vehicle.

User flow
Following a user needs analysis, I created a user flow with three scenarios that best reflected the most frequent objectives that users of the app will have: finding restaurants, placing food orders, and getting food delivered. With it as a starting point, it aids in my comprehension of the steps a user might take to accomplish a goal and prepared me for the following design stage: wireframing.
Wireframing
Scenario 01: Finding Restaurants
Because most users of food ordering app in airports might choose the restaurants they are familiar with for efficiency, I put the search bar in the most prominent place.
The following are the categories, so that users can quickly find restaurants according to their taste, and then the recommended restaurants with filter function, and filtering options include: distance, waiting time, rating, price and number of orders
Based on the user with 3 scenarios, I created the wireframing and started design for the interaction and transition between everypages
Scenario 02: Ordering from restaurant
On the restaurant page, users can select take-out or pick-up in advance and see the estimated waiting time under the restaurant info. On the restaurant page, you can see the categories on the left, and you can choose to add meals on the right, while the shopping cart is displayed at the bottom and will be displayed at the bottom no matter which screen you switch to. After choosing, you can enter the confirmation page, confirm all the information, choose the delivery location and delivery time.
Scenario 03: Checking Orders
After placing an order, the user can see the order in progress from the navigation bar or on the homepage, the order is accompanied by a map and order status, and if you choose delivery you can see the location of the robot. When the delivery robot is approaching, the app will remind the user to pick up the meal and show the QR code, scan the code on the robot, the cabinet will open automatically, the user will pick up the meal, then the user could confirm pick up and rate the order
High-fidelity model
Final output
How it works:
STEP 1: Order using the app
STEP 02: While user wait for the car to come, display the QR code on the screen and scan it the code using camera above the screen.
STEP 03: After the user confirms on the screen, the door to the box and the drinks dispenser will automatically open.
STEP 04: A animation on car's screen will show the user where their order is stored in a box.
STEP 5: Enjoy!
